You told that they are teaching stuff which is obsolete. Do teachers approve the materials they teach kids with? If a teacher has the idea of suggesting something brand new, how easily he will get approval? I think that the problem is somewhere here.
I’m not totally sure what you mean. Could you clarify so I can better answer your question?
What do you guys usually listen for when you are looking to give comments after playing? Do you anticipate what’s going to sound bad, or listen for lower-performing sections?
Both, for sure. If it’s a recording, I’ll go back and listen several times, specifically focusing my listening on different things so I’m (hopefully) not missing anything.
